Mentoring for Young Men

Since 2009, every Fathers Day weekend, The Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend for Young Men brings 100 young men from across the country to Little Elm, TX for a four-day, three-night program designed to share and teach the principles of manhood.  The program is designed to help them realize their potential and envision a future where they are strong, responsible and productive men. Created and hosted by TV and radio personality, Steve Harvey, this interactive program is full of frank talk, teambuilding activities, and workshops led by leaders in business, entertainment, the military, as well as, everyday men.  The program’s long term goal is to break the misguided traits of manhood and introduce role models who provide solid and positive examples of manhood.

Eligible participants must be 13-18 years old, from a single female head of household, enrolled as a student in grades 8-11 as of the date of submission as well as a legal resident of the 48 contiguous United States and Washington, DC.  Since its inception, more than 700 teenage boys from single female-headed households have participated in the Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekends across the country.

The Steve Harvey Regional Mentoring Programs was created in direct response to the outcry and need from parents and community leaders to help bring change to boys in their cities. This localized program will allow us to bring our core Dallas programming to create a two-day experience for 100 young men in each city.
